This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of nimotuzumab, a humanized IgG1 kappa antibody directed against the human epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). It is supplied for research use only and is not the clinical drug, nor is it intended for human or veterinary use. Built around the EGFR target, the analog is useful as a reference reagent for characterizing EGFR-directed binding, for receptor-blockade and ligand-competition assays, and as a benchmark control when developing or comparing other anti-EGFR molecules. Its intermediate-affinity, bivalent binding profile makes it a useful tool for studying EGFR expression-density effects and epitope-specific engagement in vitro. It supports ADCC readouts, antibody-dependent effector-function studies, and antibody-drug-conjugate development workflows where a defined anti-EGFR IgG1 scaffold is needed. Material is offered at research-grade low endotoxin (<1 EU/mg), with ultra-low-endotoxin (<0.5 EU/mg) and bulk milligram-to-gram formats available for preclinical and in-vitro standardization work requiring consistent lot-to-lot performance. EGFR (ErbB1/HER1; UniProt P00533) is a single-pass transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase of the ErbB family. Ligand binding by EGF, TGF-alpha, amphiregulin and related growth factors drives receptor homodimerization or heterodimerization with HER2, HER3 or HER4, activating the intracellular kinase domain and trans-autophosphorylation of C-terminal tyrosines. These phosphotyrosines nucleate signaling through the RAS-RAF-MAPK, PI3K-AKT and STAT pathways, promoting proliferation, survival, migration and differentiation. EGFR overexpression, activating mutations and gene amplification are recurrent drivers in epithelial cancers including head and neck, colorectal, lung and glioma, making the receptor a central oncology target. A distinguishing feature relevant to antibody engagement is that stable bivalent binding favors cells with higher EGFR surface density, contributing to preferential engagement of tumor over normal tissue.

This monoclonal antibody was purified using multi-step affinity chromatography methods such as Protein A or G depending on the species and isotype.
