Background
This antibody targets mouse CD8a (Lyt-2) using clone 2.43, a rat IgG2b monoclonal raised against mouse CD8-bearing cells and one of the most widely cited clones for in vivo CD8 T-cell depletion. The rat IgG2b isotype supports Fc-dependent effector clearance of CD8+ T cells in immunocompetent mice, making the clone well suited to functional and mechanistic studies rather than staining alone. It is validated across immunoprecipitation, Western blot, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence and functional assays, giving researchers a single reagent for both target detection and in vivo intervention. ichor.bio supplies 2.43 in an in-vivo-ready, low-endotoxin format (research grade <1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg) at bulk mg-to-gram scale, reducing endotoxin-driven confounders in immunology, tumour immunology and infection models. All material is for research use only (RUO). Because researchers typically search by clone, this product is listed under the 2.43 designation to match established literature and prior in vivo depletion studies. CD8a (Lyt-2, encoded by Cd8a) is a transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily that serves as the defining co-receptor of cytotoxic T lymphocytes. On most conventional CD8+ T cells it is expressed as a CD8 alpha-beta heterodimer, while a CD8 alpha-alpha homodimer appears on subsets of intraepithelial lymphocytes, NK cells and dendritic-cell populations. CD8 binds the alpha-3 domain of MHC class I molecules, stabilising the interaction between the T-cell receptor and peptide-MHC-I complexes and recruiting the kinase Lck to the intracellular signalling machinery. This co-receptor function lowers the threshold for antigen recognition and is essential for the priming, expansion and effector activity of cytotoxic T cells that eliminate virally infected and tumour cells. Because CD8a marks essentially all cytotoxic T cells, it is a primary lineage marker and a key handle for both identifying and functionally manipulating this population.

Bio X Cell:

ICH1045 is up to 37% cheaper for industry than the equivalent product from Bio X Cell (BE0061). ICH1045UL is up to 36% cheaper than the ultra-low endotoxin version from Bio X Cell (BP0061. Product Benefits:

ichorbio's anti-CD8a In Vivo Antibody - Low Endotoxin (2.43) is manufactured in a cGMP compliant, ISO Quality Standard 9001:2015 facility. ichorbio's low endotoxin antibodies have half the endotoxin of comparable antibodies from Bio X Cell at less than 1.0 EU/mg. If ichorbio's low endotoxin antibodies are not low enough we also offer ultra low endotoxin antibodies which have even less endotoxin (<0.5EU/mg) at an even higher purity (98% versus 95%). ichorbio: the best antibodies for in vivo research.
