Background
ICH5530 is supplied as a non-therapeutic, unconjugated recombinant analog of the originator antibody Epitumomab, produced for research use only (RUO). It is intended as a research-grade tool built around the antibody's antigen-binding activity rather than as the clinical drug: it is not formulated, tested, or approved for human or veterinary use. Like other ichor.bio research biosimilars, it is offered at low endotoxin levels (research grade <1 EU/mg, with ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg options) and available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities, which makes it suitable as an in-vitro reference standard, an assay control, and a benchmarking reagent for preclinical development work. Typical research applications for reagents of this class include target-binding characterization, epitope and affinity comparison, use as a positive/isotype-matched control, flow cytometry and immunoassay standardization, and as a starting material for ADC or bispecific development workflows. Note: the antigen assignment on this card should be confirmed (see flag) before the product background is finalized, because the drug's commonly reported target differs from the listed target. MS4A1 (UniProt P11836) encodes CD20, a member of the MS4A (membrane-spanning 4-domain, subfamily A) family of tetraspanning cell-surface proteins. CD20 is expressed on B lymphocytes from the pre-B/late-pro-B stage through mature B cells but is lost on terminally differentiated plasma cells and absent from hematopoietic stem cells, making it a lineage-restricted B-cell marker. Structurally it crosses the membrane four times, with both N- and C-termini intracellular and a small extracellular loop that forms the antibody-accessible epitope. CD20 is not shed, internalizes poorly, and lacks a known natural ligand; functionally it is implicated in regulating transmembrane calcium flux and B-cell activation and proliferation. Its stable surface expression and B-cell restriction underlie its established use as a therapeutic and diagnostic target in B-cell malignancies and autoimmune disease.
