Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the anti-AXL antibody mecbotamab, supplied strictly for research use only. It is a human IgG1 (kappa) directed against the receptor tyrosine kinase AXL (UniProt P30530), reproducing the target specificity of the originator molecule without being the clinical drug and without any conjugated payload or drug linker. Because it is offered in an unconjugated format, it is well suited as a naked binding reagent for characterising AXL engagement and as a matched backbone or benchmark control in antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) development programs where AXL is the target antigen. Typical research applications include AXL-binding and blocking assays, flow cytometry and immunoassay development, receptor internalisation studies, and use as a positive control or reference standard alongside in-house anti-AXL candidates. It is manufactured at research grade with low endotoxin (<1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg options) and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support screening, preclinical, and assay-scale work. Not for human or veterinary use.
AXL is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the TAM family (TYRO3, AXL, MER), encoded by the AXL gene and mapped to UniProt P30530. Its principal ligand is growth arrest-specific 6 (GAS6), which bridges phosphatidylserine on apoptotic-cell and vesicle membranes to the AXL extracellular Ig-like and fibronectin type III domains, driving receptor dimerisation and autophosphorylation. Downstream signalling activates PI3K-AKT, MAPK-ERK, and STAT pathways, promoting cell survival, proliferation, migration, and cytoskeletal remodelling. AXL contributes to efferocytosis, innate-immune regulation, and platelet stabilisation. In oncology it is widely studied as a driver of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, metastasis, immune evasion, and acquired resistance to targeted and immune therapies, which makes it an attractive antigen for antibody and ADC approaches.
