Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of mipasetamab, an anti-AXL human IgG1-kappa antibody, supplied strictly for research use only. It reproduces the target-binding activity of the originator molecule against human AXL receptor tyrosine kinase while omitting any cytotoxic payload or therapeutic formulation, making it a clean reagent for studying AXL biology and antibody behavior in controlled settings. Typical research applications include use as a positive binding control, a specificity or blocking reference, a benchmarking tool in assay development, and a starting point for antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) and effector-function workflows where a well-characterized anti-AXL binder is needed. It is offered at research-grade low endotoxin (<1 EU/mg, with ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg options), and can be produced in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support scale-up, in-vitro panels, and preclinical model work. It is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. All content here is guidance for ichorbio to review before publication. AXL (UniProt P30530) is a receptor tyrosine kinase of the TAM family (TYRO3, AXL, MER). Its principal ligand is GAS6, which bridges to phosphatidylserine on apoptotic and stressed cells, driving receptor dimerization and autophosphorylation. AXL signaling activates PI3K-AKT, MAPK, and STAT pathways, promoting cell survival, proliferation, migration, and cytoskeletal remodeling. It contributes to efferocytosis and to dampening innate immune and inflammatory responses. In cancer, AXL overexpression is associated with epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition, invasion, metastasis, immune evasion, and acquired resistance to targeted and chemotherapeutic agents, which is why it is an active oncology target. AXL also participates in platelet function, vascular biology, and, as a co-entry factor for certain enveloped viruses, in infection biology, making it relevant across multiple research fields.
