Background
This product is a research-grade biosimilar of torudokimab, supplied as an unconjugated, non-therapeutic analog of the originator antibody for research use only. It is built around the interleukin-33 (IL-33) target and reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the originator as a human IgG4-kappa molecule, without any therapeutic labeling or clinical intent. It is manufactured to in-vivo research standards with low endotoxin (research grade less than 1 EU/mg; ultra-low grade less than 0.5 EU/mg where offered) and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities suitable for functional and comparability studies. As a biosimilar rather than a hybridoma-derived antibody, it is defined by its molecular sequence and target engagement rather than by a clone designation. Typical applications include serving as an IL-33-neutralizing reference reagent, a positive control in binding and blocking assays, and a benchmarking tool alongside other anti-IL-33 reagents. Because torudokimab is directed against a human target, this reagent is primarily intended for in-vitro and functional characterization rather than routine mouse in-vivo dosing. Interleukin-33 (IL-33; UniProt O95760) is an IL-1 family cytokine and a nuclear-associated alarmin constitutively expressed by epithelial and endothelial cells at barrier surfaces. Upon cell damage or stress, IL-33 is released into the extracellular space, where it signals through the ST2 receptor (IL1RL1) together with the IL-1 receptor accessory protein, driving MyD88-dependent activation of NF-kB and MAPK pathways. This axis is a major amplifier of type 2 immunity, activating ILC2s, mast cells, eosinophils, and Th2 cells and promoting production of IL-5 and IL-13. IL-33/ST2 signaling is strongly implicated in asthma and allergic airway inflammation, atopic dermatitis, and other type 2-driven and fibrotic conditions, making IL-33 an actively pursued therapeutic target. Torudokimab binds IL-33 and is intended to neutralize its interaction with ST2.
