Background
This product is a research-grade biosimilar of Stapokibart, supplied as an unconjugated, non-therapeutic analog of the originator antibody for research use only. It is not the clinical drug and is not intended for therapeutic or diagnostic use in humans. The molecule is built as a human IgG4-kappa immunoglobulin directed against the interleukin-4 receptor alpha subunit (IL-4Rα, UniProt P24394), reproducing the antigen-binding specificity of the reference product so investigators can study receptor engagement and downstream signalling in controlled experimental systems. Stapokibart itself is an anti-IL-4Rα therapeutic developed for type 2 inflammatory conditions such as atopic dermatitis and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, where it blocks signalling shared by IL-4 and IL-13. As a biosimilar reagent, this material is well suited to binding assays, receptor-blockade and neutralisation studies, and as a reference or control antibody in comparative pharmacology work. It is offered at low endotoxin, in-vivo-compatible quality standards and in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support assay development, characterisation, and mechanistic research programs.
Interleukin-4 receptor alpha (IL-4Rα, encoded by IL4R; UniProt P24394) is the shared, ligand-binding subunit of the receptors for IL-4 and IL-13, two central drivers of type 2 (Th2) immune responses. IL-4Rα pairs with the common gamma chain to form the type I receptor that responds to IL-4, and with IL-13Rα1 to form the type II receptor that responds to both IL-4 and IL-13. Engagement triggers JAK-STAT signalling, predominantly through STAT6, promoting Th2 differentiation, IgE class switching, goblet cell metaplasia, and eosinophilic inflammation. Because IL-4Rα sits at the convergence point of both cytokines, blocking it simultaneously interrupts the IL-4 and IL-13 axes. This makes IL-4Rα a heavily studied node in allergic and atopic disease biology, including atopic dermatitis, asthma, and chronic rhinosinusitis, and a well-validated target for antibody-mediated pathway inhibition.
