Background
This product is a research-grade biosimilar of zansecimab (LY-3127804), supplied as an unconjugated, non-therapeutic analog of the originator antibody for research use only. It is not a clinical drug and is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use. Zansecimab is a humanized IgG4-kappa monoclonal antibody directed against human angiopoietin 2 (Ang2 / ANGPT2, UniProt O15123), a secreted regulator of the Tie2 (TEK) receptor axis that governs vascular stability and angiogenesis. The biosimilar reproduces the target-binding specificity of the originator so that investigators can use it as a reference reagent in binding, blocking, and neutralization studies against Ang2. As with ichor.bio in-vivo research antibodies, it is manufactured to low-endotoxin research standards and is available in bulk milligram to gram quantities, making it suitable for reproducible, scaled experiments and as a benchmarking control. Because zansecimab is directed against a human target, this reagent is most commonly deployed in functional and in-vitro contexts rather than as a therapeutic in animals. It provides a consistent, well-characterized tool for laboratories studying angiopoietin-Tie2 signaling in angiogenesis, vascular biology, and inflammation research. Angiopoietin 2 (Ang2, gene ANGPT2; UniProt O15123) is a secreted glycoprotein ligand of the endothelial receptor tyrosine kinase Tie2 (TEK). It acts largely as a context-dependent antagonist of angiopoietin 1, competing for the Tie2 binding site and destabilizing quiescent endothelium. By loosening endothelial cell-matrix and cell-cell contacts, Ang2 primes vessels for remodeling: in the presence of VEGF it promotes endothelial migration, proliferation, and sprouting angiogenesis, whereas without such angiogenic cues it can drive vessel regression and endothelial apoptosis. Ang2 is upregulated in tumor angiogenesis and in numerous inflammatory and vascular-permeability disorders, and contributes to inflammation-associated signaling. Because it sits at a control point of the angiopoietin-Tie2 axis, Ang2 is an actively studied target for anti-angiogenic and vascular-normalization strategies. Neutralizing Ang2 with antibodies such as zansecimab is used experimentally to interrogate this pathway.
