Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of otlertuzumab, supplied for research use only. It is built around the CD37 target and reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the originator molecule, allowing laboratories to use it as a defined anti-CD37 reagent in place of the clinical material. Otlertuzumab itself is a single-chain CD37-directed protein therapeutic engineered with a modified human IgG1 CH2+CH3 (E356D/M358L) Fc-like domain; this analog carries the corresponding format so investigators can study CD37 engagement and Fc-dependent effector behavior in controlled settings. It is intended purely as a laboratory tool, not as a drug for human or veterinary use. The material is useful for positive/negative binding controls, epitope and cross-reactivity comparisons against other anti-CD37 clones, target-expression profiling on B-cell lines, and as a building block for ADCC, ADC, or bispecific development workflows. It is offered at research grade with low endotoxin (typically less than 1 EU/mg, with ultra-low-endotoxin options below 0.5 EU/mg) and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support both in-vitro assays and preclinical model work.
CD37 (UniProt P11049) is a member of the tetraspanin (transmembrane 4) superfamily, characterized by four transmembrane domains and a large extracellular loop that carries the recognized epitopes. It is expressed most strongly on mature, peripheral B lymphocytes, with lower or absent expression on early pro-B cells, plasma cells, T cells, and most non-lymphoid tissues, making it a relatively B-cell-restricted marker. CD37 organizes membrane microdomains and associates with other tetraspanins and partner receptors, contributing to signaling that influences B-cell survival, proliferation, and the balance between pro-apoptotic and pro-survival pathways. Because it is highly and consistently expressed across many B-cell malignancies, including chronic lymphocytic leukemia and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, CD37 is an attractive target for antibody- and protein-based therapeutics and for research reagents probing B-cell biology.
