Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of indenebart, an anti-alpha-synuclein (SNCA) antibody being investigated clinically for synucleinopathies such as Parkinson's disease and multiple system atrophy. Built around the same alpha-synuclein target, it is a research-grade reagent supplied for research use only (RUO) and is not the clinical drug, nor is it intended for human or veterinary use. As a full-length human IgG1/lambda molecule, it is useful as a defined, sequence-consistent tool for characterising anti-SNCA binding, for building neutralisation and aggregation-modulation assays, and as a positive control or benchmark alongside other alpha-synuclein antibodies. It is produced with low-endotoxin manufacturing (research grade <1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg) and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities, supporting in-vitro workflows, preclinical model development, and antibody-engineering or ADCC/ADC-development pipelines. Lot-to-lot consistency and an isotype-matched human framework make it suitable for structure-function, epitope, and comparability studies where a stable reference antibody is needed. Confirm target-form specificity for your application before use. Alpha-synuclein (SNCA; UniProt P37840) is a small, 140-residue, natively unfolded protein that is highly enriched at presynaptic nerve terminals, where it associates with synaptic vesicle membranes and is thought to regulate vesicle trafficking, SNARE-complex assembly, and neurotransmitter release. Its N-terminal region contains amphipathic imperfect repeats that mediate lipid binding, while the central hydrophobic NAC domain drives self-aggregation. Under pathological conditions, monomeric alpha-synuclein misfolds and assembles into oligomers and amyloid fibrils that accumulate as Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites, the defining lesions of Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and multiple system atrophy (collectively synucleinopathies). Aggregated and phosphorylated (Ser129) species are widely studied as disease-associated forms, and prion-like cell-to-cell propagation of misfolded alpha-synuclein is a major research focus. These properties make SNCA a central target for antibody-based detection, aggregation, and clearance studies.
