This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of alemtuzumab, a humanized IgG1 kappa antibody directed against human CD52. Built around the well-characterized CD52 target, the molecule reproduces the antigen-binding behavior of the originator, making it a practical reference reagent for in-vitro and preclinical work. Typical applications include CD52 binding and specificity assays, complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) characterization, flow-cytometry-based detection of CD52-expressing lymphocytes, use as a positive or isotype-matched control, and as a building block for ADC or bispecific development workflows. The material is produced at research grade with low endotoxin (typically <1 EU/mg, with ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg options), and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support assay development, screening campaigns, and reproducible batch-to-batch comparisons. Because it is delivered unconjugated, it can be labeled or formatted downstream to suit specific experimental readouts. CD52 (CAMPATH-1 antigen; UniProt P31358) is a very small glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored cell-surface glycoprotein consisting of a short 12-amino-acid mature peptide attached to a comparatively large N-linked glycan and the GPI anchor. It is expressed at high density on mature lymphocytes (both T and B cells), monocytes, macrophages, eosinophils, and dendritic cells, and by epithelial cells of the epididymis and male reproductive tract, where the soluble form associates with sperm. It is largely absent from hematopoietic stem cells, which allows lymphocyte-directed targeting to spare progenitor populations. Its precise physiological function remains incompletely defined, with proposed roles in T-cell costimulation and immune regulation. Its abundance, accessibility, and lineage-restricted expression make CD52 an effective handle for antibody-mediated lymphocyte depletion via CDC and ADCC.
