Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the anti-GM-CSF antibody otilimab, built around the human CSF2 (GM-CSF) target and supplied strictly for research use only. It is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. Like the originator, it is a fully human IgG1 (lambda light chain) format directed against granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor. The analog is useful as a well-defined tool for probing GM-CSF biology in vitro and in preclinical settings: as a neutralizing reagent to block GM-CSF signaling in cell-based assays, as a positive or benchmarking control in binding and competition experiments, as a capture or detection reagent, and as a reference molecule for ADCC/ADC or bispecific development workflows. It is offered at research grade with low endotoxin (typically <1 EU/mg research grade, or <0.5 EU/mg ultra-low), in an in-vivo-compatible standard format, and in bulk quantities from milligram to gram scale to support assay development, screening, and scale-up. No clonality claim is made beyond the recombinant analog description.
CSF2 encodes granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF), a monomeric glycoprotein cytokine produced by activated T cells, macrophages, endothelial cells, and fibroblasts. GM-CSF signals through a heterodimeric receptor composed of a ligand-specific alpha chain (CSF2RA) and the shared common beta chain (CSF2RB, also used by IL-3 and IL-5), triggering JAK2/STAT5, PI3K, and MAPK pathways. It drives the survival, proliferation, and differentiation of granulocyte and macrophage progenitors, and licenses the pro-inflammatory activation of monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Beyond hematopoiesis, GM-CSF is a key effector in the inflammatory cascade of several autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, promoting tissue myeloid recruitment and cytokine amplification. Because of this role, GM-CSF is an established therapeutic target, and neutralizing it dampens myeloid-driven inflammation.
