Background
This product is a research-grade, unconjugated recombinant analog of tilvestamab, a humanized IgG1 kappa antibody directed against the receptor tyrosine kinase AXL (UniProt P30530). It is a non-therapeutic biosimilar intended strictly for research use only (RUO) and is not the clinical drug, nor is it for human or veterinary use. Because it reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the originator against human AXL, it is a convenient tool for in-vitro and preclinical investigation of AXL biology, GAS6/AXL signaling, and receptor-blocking pharmacology. Typical applications include positive and reference controls in binding and neutralization assays, benchmarking of new anti-AXL candidates, ADCC or antibody-drug-conjugate development workpackages, epitope and mechanism studies, and target-engagement readouts. The material is supplied at research grade with low endotoxin (<1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg options), is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities, and can serve as an in-vivo-grade standard where appropriate. No clone designation is implied; the reagent is defined by its AXL target specificity and human IgG1 kappa framework. AXL (tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO; UniProt P30530) is a member of the TAM family of receptor tyrosine kinases, alongside TYRO3 and MER. Its principal ligand is the vitamin-K-dependent protein GAS6, whose binding drives AXL dimerization and autophosphorylation. Activated AXL recruits PI3-kinase regulatory subunits, GRB2, PLCG1 and PTPN11, engaging downstream AKT, MAPK and STAT signaling that regulates cell survival, proliferation, migration, adhesion and immune modulation. AXL overexpression and aberrant activation are linked to epithelial-mesenchymal transition, tumor invasion, metastasis and acquired resistance to targeted and cytotoxic therapies across multiple cancers. AXL also contributes to innate immune regulation and efferocytosis, and has been reported as an entry cofactor for certain enveloped viruses via GAS6-mediated phosphatidylserine bridging. These roles make AXL an actively studied oncology and immunology target.
