Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of osocimab, an anti-coagulation Factor XI/XIa monoclonal antibody, supplied strictly for research use only. It is built around the human F11 target (Factor XI) and reproduces the human IgG1 kappa framework of the originator, but it is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. The format is ideal for in-vitro and preclinical research where a well-characterised anti-Factor XI(a) binder is needed: as a positive control or benchmark in binding and neutralisation assays, in epitope-competition and pharmacology studies, in coagulation and contact-pathway workflows, and as a reference reagent for assay development and biosimilar characterisation. It is offered as a bulk, low-endotoxin research-grade preparation (typically <1 EU/mg, with ultra-low-endotoxin <0.5 EU/mg options) suitable for in-vivo-standard studies and scale-up from milligram to gram quantities. Because it is unconjugated, it can be labelled, immobilised, or paired with detection systems as the experimental design requires. All content here is guidance for ichorbio to review.
Factor XI (F11, UniProt P03951) is a plasma zymogen of the intrinsic (contact) coagulation pathway, circulating as a disulphide-linked homodimer bound to high-molecular-weight kininogen. It is activated to the serine protease Factor XIa either by Factor XIIa during contact activation or by thrombin in a feedback loop. Factor XIa in turn activates Factor IX, amplifying thrombin generation and sustaining clot formation. Each subunit comprises four apple domains and a C-terminal catalytic domain; the apple domains mediate interactions with substrates, cofactors, and platelets. Factor XI is of major interest because it contributes substantially to pathological thrombosis while playing a comparatively limited role in normal haemostasis, making it an attractive antithrombotic target that may uncouple clot prevention from bleeding risk. Osocimab binds Factor XI/XIa to inhibit its procoagulant activity.
