Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the anti-PD-L1 antibody opucolimab, produced for research use only. It is built around the same human PD-L1 (CD274 / B7-H1) target engaged by the originator immune-checkpoint inhibitor, and reproduces the antigen-binding behaviour of the reference molecule while remaining distinct from the clinical drug. It is not intended for human or veterinary use. The analog is well suited to laboratory workflows that need a defined, reproducible anti-PD-L1 reagent: positive and isotype-matched binding controls, benchmarking of PD-1/PD-L1 blockade in receptor-ligand and cell-based neutralisation assays, epitope-competition and affinity studies, and as a comparator when developing or characterising other checkpoint reagents, ADCs, or engineered constructs. It is offered as a human IgG1 (lambda) format, at low-endotoxin research grade (typically under 1 EU/mg, with ultra-low options under 0.5 EU/mg) and in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support preclinical and in-vitro programmes that require consistent lot supply. PD-L1 (Programmed cell death 1 ligand 1; gene CD274, also called B7-H1) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the B7 immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on antigen-presenting cells, many other tissues, and is frequently upregulated on tumour cells and in the tumour microenvironment, often driven by interferon-gamma. PD-L1 binds the inhibitory receptor PD-1 on activated T cells, delivering signals that dampen T-cell receptor signalling, reduce proliferation and cytokine production, and promote peripheral tolerance and T-cell exhaustion. PD-L1 also engages CD80 (B7-1). Tumours exploit this axis to evade immune surveillance, which is why blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction is a central strategy in cancer immunotherapy to restore effector T-cell activity.
