Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the anti-CD22 antibody mozistobart, supplied for research use only. It reproduces the human IgG1/kappa framework and antigen-binding specificity directed against CD22 (SIGLEC-2), the B-cell restricted inhibitory coreceptor, but is provided as a plain antibody without the payload or conjugation chemistry of the originator biologic. It is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. Manufactured as a recombinant protein, it is well suited to laboratory workflows that require a defined, reproducible anti-CD22 binder: positive and isotype-matched controls, epitope and cross-reactivity characterization, assay standardization, and reagent benchmarking against in-house or competitor antibodies. It is useful in in-vitro binding, flow cytometry, and neutralization studies, and as a building block for ADCC, antibody-drug-conjugate, or bispecific development programs targeting B cells. The material is offered at low endotoxin (research grade <1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg) and in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support screening, formulation, and preclinical characterization work. CD22 (SIGLEC-2, UniProt P20273) is a sialic-acid-binding immunoglobulin-like lectin expressed almost exclusively on the B-cell lineage, appearing in the cytoplasm of pro/pre-B cells and on the surface of mature IgM+/IgD+ B cells. Its extracellular region recognizes alpha-2,6-linked sialic acids, binding ligands such as CD45, IgM, and CD22 itself in cis, and glycans on neighboring cells in trans. CD22 functions as an inhibitory coreceptor of the B-cell receptor: antigen engagement drives LYN-mediated phosphorylation of its cytoplasmic immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs), recruiting the phosphatase SHP-1 (PTPN6) to dampen calcium flux and downstream activation, thereby raising the B-cell activation threshold and supporting peripheral tolerance. Its restricted expression and rapid internalization make CD22 an established target for B-cell malignancies and autoimmune disease.
