Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the originator antibody maslimomab, built around the human T cell receptor (TCR) alpha/beta complex, and is intended strictly for research use only (not for human or veterinary use). The originator maslimomab is an immunosuppressive anti-TCR antibody directed at the alpha/beta chains of the T cell receptor; this research-grade analog reproduces that target specificity so investigators can use it as a defined, consistent reagent in laboratory settings. It is useful as a positive/isotype-comparison control, as a benchmarking tool alongside other anti-TCR reagents, for in-vitro binding and neutralisation experiments, and as a starting binder for ADC- or ADCC-format development work. It is supplied unconjugated so users can label or conjugate it as needed. The material is offered at research grade with low endotoxin (typically under 1 EU/mg, with ultra-low-endotoxin under 0.5 EU/mg options) and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support scale-up, assay development, and preclinical characterisation. It is not the clinical drug. The T cell receptor (TCR) is a cell-surface antigen-recognition complex expressed on T lymphocytes. In most circulating T cells it consists of a disulfide-linked alpha and beta chain heterodimer, each with a variable and a constant domain, generated through V(D)J recombination to produce a highly diverse repertoire. The TCR recognises short peptide antigens presented by major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules on other cells. Because the alpha/beta heterodimer itself has short cytoplasmic tails and cannot signal alone, it associates non-covalently with the invariant CD3 chains (gamma, delta, epsilon) and the zeta homodimer, which carry the ITAM motifs that transduce activation signals. Engagement of the TCR-CD3 complex drives T cell activation, proliferation, and differentiation, making it central to adaptive immunity and a target of interest for immunomodulation and immuno-oncology research.
