Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of iratumumab, an anti-CD30 human IgG1 monoclonal antibody originally developed as a fully human antibody directed against the TNF-receptor superfamily member CD30 (TNFRSF8). Supplied for research use only, it is built around the CD30 antigen and reproduces the target specificity of the originator molecule so that laboratories can study CD30 engagement without sourcing clinical material. It is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. The recombinant format makes it useful as a defined, reproducible reagent for binding and blocking assays, as an isotype-matched or antigen-specific positive control alongside other anti-CD30 tools, as a targeting moiety in antibody-drug-conjugate (ADC) and effector-function development workflows, and as a benchmarking standard in preclinical characterization. It is available as a low-endotoxin, bulk-scale preparation (research-grade <1 EU/mg, ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg) suitable for in-vitro and cell-based experiments and for in-vivo research standards where a well-defined anti-human-CD30 antibody is required. Quantities scale from milligram to gram to support assay development and larger preclinical programs. CD30 (TNFRSF8, UniProt P28908) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. Its expression is tightly restricted: it is largely absent from most resting normal tissues but is induced on a subset of activated T and B lymphocytes, and it is characteristically and strongly expressed on the malignant cells of classical Hodgkin lymphoma (Reed-Sternberg cells) and anaplastic large cell lymphoma, as well as some other lymphoid neoplasms. CD30 binds its ligand CD30L (CD153, TNFSF8) and signals through TRAF-adaptor recruitment to modulate NF-kappaB activation, influencing lymphocyte proliferation, survival, and apoptosis depending on cellular context. This restricted, disease-associated expression pattern is what makes CD30 an attractive antigen for targeted antibody and ADC approaches and a useful marker in immunology and hemato-oncology research.
