Background
This product is a research-grade, unconjugated recombinant analog of the anti-OX40 (TNFRSF4/CD134) antibody Gimistotug (originator development code BGB-A445), a human IgG1-kappa immunoglobulin. It is supplied strictly for research use only and is not the clinical therapeutic; it is not intended for human or veterinary use. Built around the OX40 target, this non-therapeutic biosimilar reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the originator and is useful as a defined, reproducible reagent for in-vitro and preclinical work: as a positive control in binding and epitope-competition assays, a benchmark for characterizing biosimilar or novel anti-OX40 candidates, a tool for probing OX40/OX40L costimulatory signaling, and a reference standard in ADCC or antibody-engineering studies. The IgG1-kappa framework supports Fc-dependent effector-function experiments. It is offered at research grade with low endotoxin (<1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg options), and in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities suitable for assay development, scale-up, and preclinical model work where lot consistency and material quantity matter.
OX40 (TNFRSF4, CD134; UniProt P43489) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily and a costimulatory receptor for T cells. It is not constitutively expressed but is induced on activated CD4+ and, at lower levels, CD8+ T cells roughly 24-72 hours after T-cell receptor engagement; it is also found on some regulatory T cells, NK, NK-T cells and neutrophils. Its ligand, OX40L (TNFSF4/CD252), is expressed on activated antigen-presenting cells such as dendritic cells, macrophages and B cells. OX40 engagement delivers a late costimulatory signal that recruits TRAF adaptors, activates NF-kB and NFAT pathways, and enhances T-cell proliferation, survival, cytokine production (including IL-2) and effector differentiation while modulating regulatory T-cell activity. Because of this role in amplifying antigen-primed T-cell responses, OX40 is a target of interest in tumor immunology and immune-modulation research.
