This is a research-grade, unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of pelgifatamab, engineered as a human IgG1-kappa antibody directed against FOLH1 (prostate-specific membrane antigen, PSMA; UniProt Q04609). It is intended strictly for research use only and is not the clinical therapeutic; it is not for human or veterinary use. Supplied as a bulk-scale reagent (mg to gram quantities) with low-endotoxin grades (research grade less than 1 EU/mg; ultra-low less than 0.5 EU/mg) suitable for cell-based and in-vivo standard applications. Because it reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the originator against PSMA, it is useful as a positive control and benchmarking tool in PSMA-targeted assay development, for studying antibody-antigen binding and epitope characterization, as a reference antibody in ADCC/ADC and bispecific/T-cell-engager development workflows, and as an isotype-matched human IgG1 tool in comparative binding and internalization studies. It enables reproducible, cost-effective preclinical experimentation without diverting clinical material. FOLH1 encodes folate hydrolase 1, better known as prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA) or glutamate carboxypeptidase II. It is a type II transmembrane glycoprotein with a short intracellular tail, a single membrane-spanning region, and a large extracellular catalytic domain that functions as a zinc-dependent metallopeptidase. Enzymatically it cleaves N-acetyl-aspartyl-glutamate (NAAG) in the nervous system and hydrolyzes poly-gamma-glutamated folates in the intestine. PSMA is highly overexpressed on prostate cancer epithelium, with expression increasing in higher-grade, metastatic, and castration-resistant disease, and it is also present on the neovasculature of many solid tumors. The receptor internalizes upon antibody binding, a property exploited for targeted imaging and drug delivery. This restricted, high-density tumor expression makes PSMA a validated target for prostate cancer diagnostics and therapeutics.
