Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the anti-IGF1R antibody figitumumab, produced for research use only and built around the type 1 insulin-like growth factor receptor (IGF1R). It is supplied unlabeled and is intended as a laboratory reagent rather than a clinical or veterinary product. Because it reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the originator molecule directed against IGF1R, it is useful as a defined, reproducible tool for target-engagement studies, as a positive or reference control in binding and blocking assays, and as starting material for ADC development or Fc-engineering workflows. The analog is offered at research grade with low endotoxin (typically less than 1 EU/mg, with ultra-low-endotoxin below 0.5 EU/mg available) and can be supplied in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support screening cascades, assay standardization, and preclinical in-vitro or ex-vivo experiments. It is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or animal therapeutic use. All applications and any dosing described here are provided as general guidance for ichorbio to review.
IGF1R (type 1 insulin-like growth factor receptor) is a transmembrane receptor tyrosine kinase that binds IGF-1 and, with lower affinity, IGF-2. It is synthesized as a proreceptor that is proteolytically processed into alpha and beta subunits assembled as a disulfide-linked (alpha-beta)2 homodimer; the extracellular alpha subunits form the ligand-binding site while the beta subunits carry the transmembrane and intracellular tyrosine kinase domains. Ligand binding triggers receptor autophosphorylation and recruitment of IRS-1/2 and Shc adaptors, activating the PI3K-AKT and RAS-MAPK pathways to drive proliferation, survival, growth, and metabolism. IGF1R is closely homologous to the insulin receptor and can form insulin/IGF1R hybrid receptors. Its signaling is heavily implicated in tumor growth, resistance, and anti-apoptotic signaling, making it a long-standing oncology target.
