Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of monalizumab, an anti-NKG2A antibody, supplied as a human IgG4 format built around the NKG2A target for research use only. It is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. The analog is intended for in-vitro and preclinical laboratory work where a reproducible, well-characterized anti-NKG2A binder is useful: as a positive control or reference reagent in binding and blocking assays, for probing NKG2A/HLA-E signaling on NK and CD8 T cells, for ADCC/ADC or bispecific development workflows, and as a benchmarking tool alongside checkpoint-modulation panels. It is offered at research grade with low endotoxin (<1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg options), and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support assay development, screening campaigns, and standardization across experiments. Because it is delivered unconjugated, users can label, format, or engineer it as their protocol requires. Guidance is provided for ichorbio to review before publication. NKG2A (encoded by KLRC1; UniProt P26715) is an inhibitory C-type lectin-like receptor expressed on natural killer cells and subsets of CD8 T cells. It heterodimerizes with CD94 (KLRD1) to form the CD94/NKG2A complex, which recognizes the non-classical MHC class I molecule HLA-E presenting leader peptides derived from other MHC class I molecules. Engagement delivers an inhibitory signal through cytoplasmic ITIM motifs that recruit the phosphatases SHP-1 and SHP-2, dampening cytotoxicity and cytokine release and contributing to self-tolerance and NK "missing-self" surveillance. Many tumors upregulate HLA-E, exploiting the NKG2A/HLA-E axis to suppress NK- and T-cell effector function. Blocking NKG2A relieves this inhibition, making it a checkpoint of interest in immuno-oncology research.
