Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of parsatuzumab, supplied for research use only. It is a fully human IgG1 kappa antibody built around the same target as the originator drug, EGFL7 (EGF-like domain multiple 7; UniProt Q9UHF1), and is intended as a laboratory reagent rather than a clinical or veterinary product. Because it reproduces the binding specificity of the originator without the clinical formulation, it is useful as a positive control and benchmarking tool in target-engagement, competition, and epitope-characterization assays, as a comparator in antibody-engineering and biosimilarity workflows, and as a defined reagent for probing EGFL7 biology in vitro and in preclinical models. The material is offered as a purified human IgG1, with low-endotoxin research grade (<1 EU/mg) and ultra-low-endotoxin (<0.5 EU/mg) options, and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support assay development, screening campaigns, and scale-up. It is not the clinical drug and is not for human or veterinary use. Content here is guidance for ichorbio to review.
EGFL7 (EGF-like domain multiple 7), encoded by the EGFL7 gene, is a secreted, largely endothelium-restricted protein that is deposited in the extracellular matrix around growing blood vessels. It is expressed most strongly during active angiogenesis and vascular remodeling, and its expression declines as vasculature matures. EGFL7 influences endothelial cell migration, tube formation, and vascular tubulogenesis, and it modulates Notch signaling by antagonizing Notch receptor activation, thereby affecting vascular patterning and smooth-muscle recruitment. The gene notably hosts intronic miR-126, a microRNA important for vascular integrity. Because upregulated EGFL7 is associated with tumor angiogenesis and has been detected in several solid tumors, it has been studied as an anti-angiogenic target. These properties make EGFL7 a focus for research into endothelial biology, developmental and pathological angiogenesis, and Notch-pathway crosstalk.
