Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of nadunolimab, a monoclonal antibody directed against human interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein (IL1RAP, UniProt Q9NPH3). It is supplied as a human IgG1-kappa protein built around the IL1RAP target and is intended strictly for research use (RUO); it is not the clinical drug and is not for human or veterinary use. As a research-grade biosimilar it provides a consistent, well-characterized reagent for studying IL1RAP biology and antibody function without the cost or supply constraints of clinical material. Typical applications include use as a positive binding control, a benchmark or reference antibody in comparability and assay-development work, a tool for probing IL1RAP-dependent cytokine signaling, and a starting scaffold for ADCC or antibody-drug-conjugate development studies in vitro. It is offered as a low-endotoxin preparation (research grade <1 EU/mg; ultra-low <0.5 EU/mg) suitable for in-vitro standards and preclinical models, and is available in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities for scale-up and screening campaigns. Lot-to-lot consistency supports reproducible experimental design.
IL1RAP (interleukin-1 receptor accessory protein, also called IL-1RAcP) is a shared co-receptor of the interleukin-1 receptor family. It does not bind ligand directly but is recruited to primary receptors after ligand engagement, forming the signaling-competent heterodimer required for downstream activation. IL1RAP partners with IL-1R1 for IL-1alpha and IL-1beta, with ST2 (IL1RL1) for IL-33, and with IL-36R (IL1RL2) for IL-36 cytokines. Upon complex assembly, the cytoplasmic TIR domains of the two receptor chains juxtapose, recruiting MyD88 and IRAK kinases and driving NF-kB and MAPK activation, thereby amplifying inflammatory and immune responses. Because it is the common accessory chain, IL1RAP is a convergence node for multiple IL-1 family pathways. It is expressed on many cell types and is upregulated on certain tumor cells and tumor-microenvironment components such as cancer-associated fibroblasts, macrophages, and endothelial cells, making it a target of interest in inflammation and oncology research.
