CD7 is a 40 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin superfamily, expressed on the majority of thymocytes and mature T lymphocytes, on natural killer cells, and on early myeloid and lymphoid progenitors; it appears among the earliest antigens during T-cell ontogeny.
