Myostatin (MSTN) negatively regulates skeletal-muscle mass, and blocking it is a central strategy in muscle-wasting research. Described here is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic analog of trevogrumab, a recombinant anti-myostatin monoclonal antibody for research use only. It is produced to in vivo standards in a low-endotoxin format and supplied in scalable milligram to gram quantities for bulk and high-throughput laboratories. Applications include myostatin-neutralization functional assays, in vitro myogenesis screens, and in vivo models of muscle growth and atrophy.
