Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of brentuximab, supplied for research use only. It reproduces the CD30 (TNFRSF8)-directed binding specificity of the originator antibody in a human IgG1-kappa framework, but it is provided as a naked antibody without the monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE) payload or valine-citrulline linker that define the clinical antibody-drug conjugate. As such it is a research tool, not the clinical drug, and is not for human or veterinary use. It is well suited to in-vitro and preclinical work that needs a defined, well-characterized anti-CD30 binder: as a positive control in binding and flow-cytometry assays, a reference reagent for epitope and cross-blocking studies, a capture or detection tool, and a scaffold or benchmark for ADC and payload-conjugation development. Manufactured recombinantly with lot-to-lot consistency, it is available at low-endotoxin research grade (<1 EU/mg) and ultra-low grade (<0.5 EU/mg), and in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support assay development, screening cascades, and preclinical model work. CD30 (TNFRSF8; UniProt P28908) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. It is expressed on a restricted subset of activated B and T lymphocytes and is characteristically over-expressed on malignant cells in classical Hodgkin lymphoma (Reed-Sternberg cells) and systemic anaplastic large cell lymphoma, with variable expression across other lymphoproliferative disorders. Its ligand, CD30L (CD153/TNFSF8), engages CD30 to recruit TRAF adaptor proteins and modulate NF-kB and MAPK signaling, influencing lymphocyte proliferation, activation, and apoptosis in a context-dependent manner. The receptor can be proteolytically shed, releasing a soluble ectodomain detectable in serum. Its tumor-restricted surface expression and rapid internalization on antibody binding make CD30 an attractive target for antibody and antibody-drug-conjugate approaches.
