Background
This product is an unconjugated, non-therapeutic recombinant analog of the anti-OLR1 (LOX-1) antibody golocdacimab, supplied strictly for research use only. It reproduces the antigen-binding specificity of the originator molecule against human LOX-1 in a human IgG1/lambda framework, but is not the clinical drug and is not intended for human or veterinary use. As a research reagent it is useful for probing LOX-1 biology in vitro and in preclinical models: as a positive/isotype-matched binding control, for receptor-blocking and ligand-competition assays (for example, interfering with oxidized-LDL uptake), for characterizing LOX-1 expression by flow cytometry or immunoassay, and as a benchmark analog in biosimilarity, epitope-mapping, or assay-development work. It is offered at research grade with low endotoxin (typically less than 1 EU/mg; ultra-low-endotoxin options below 0.5 EU/mg) and can be produced in bulk milligram-to-gram quantities to support in-vivo-standard studies and scale-up. No clonal designation is implied; specificity is defined by the target. OLR1 encodes LOX-1 (lectin-like oxidized LDL receptor-1), a type II transmembrane glycoprotein of the group V C-type lectin family, with a short cytoplasmic tail, a single transmembrane span, a coiled-coil NECK/stalk, and a C-terminal C-type lectin-like domain that mediates ligand binding. LOX-1 is the principal endothelial receptor for oxidized LDL and also engages advanced glycation end products, activated platelets, apoptotic cells, and certain bacteria. It is expressed on endothelium, macrophages, and vascular smooth muscle. Ligand binding activates p38 MAPK, PKC, and ERK1/2 signaling that converges on NF-kB, driving pro-inflammatory and pro-apoptotic gene expression. This promotes monocyte adhesion, foam-cell formation, and endothelial dysfunction, implicating LOX-1 in atherosclerosis, and it is studied in metabolic and vascular disease.
